When you open a site, your device first asks a DNS resolver for the site's IP. If, with a VPN on, those queries go outside the VPN to your ISP's resolver, that's a leak: your ISP (and the resolver) can see which domains you visit.
Your browser resolves a unique one-time name like token.dns.10ips.com. Our own authoritative DNS server records which resolver asked — its IP, provider and country. Your own IP is not stored.
If the resolver sits in a different network or country than your public IP, your DNS is probably bypassing the VPN. Enable the VPN's DNS protection or set a trusted DNS manually.
No. The token is one-time and lives a few minutes, then records expire by TTL. Your IP is not stored and no behavioural profile is built. The permalink contains no IP.
